DS 8000 is a series of spin vane separators removing droplets out of both - vertical and horizontal - gas flow directions. The equipment has been designed for separating larger amounts of coarse droplets at higher gas velocities from the gas stream.
The DS 8000 series is typically installed in chimneys as an "easy to maintain system" to avoid stack rain. Without reheating exhaust gas cools down immediately when getting in contact with the environment. This temperature drop causes condensation. The DS 8000 series separates this occurring condensed water out of the gas stream.
A ring of spin vanes sets the gas flow in rotation. As a result, the liquid droplets are spun outwards, impinging on the separator wall and are subsequently draining off in an annular compartment. The liquid then flows through a discharge pipe and out of the system. The simple design renders the eliminator insensitive to deposits.
