A luxury fashion boutique located in Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza sells premier brands such as Prada, Gucci and D&G. Their manager contacted Munters Italian office for assistance as they were having high humidity problems and needed help as soon as possible for their underground, humid storeroom.
Munters applications specialists analysed the situation which required a solution for the store which covered three underground rooms, in a very old building. Due to the old nature of the storerooms the walls and ceiling did not have any insulation to prevent moisture ingress and humidity problems. After some months the boutique discovered that the high humidity caused problems such as mould on the walls and ceiling and they were struggling with very bad smells which were causing damage to the valuable clothing and shoes.
After Munters analysis, the room which had a volume of 300 m³ and temperature fluctuations of 15 - 30Cº was proposed to be kept at a relative humdity of 65% to guarantee pristine conservation of the underground warehouse. Munters solution was their MLT800 dehumidifier with a moisture absorption capacity of 4kg/h for this project.
Munters MLT800 was installed in the smallest of the three underground stores as it had a small window for use by the regeneration air duct. From this room it was possible to distribute the air to the adjoining rooms – giving optimum preservation conditions year round ensuring the luxury quality of the clothing and shoes was protected.
