The key to creating the ideal Ice/Curling arena environment is to control the dew point temperature of the air. This means that if the internal dewpoint temperature is at a fairly constant 6 deg C then the internal relative humidity (RH) must be controlled at around 60% - 65% RH at all times.
If your ice hall has no conditioning equipment installed there could be a large build up of moisture being trapped in the hall. As this has a higher dewpoint temperature than the surfaces in the hall, it will condense. This results in poor ice quality and uncomfortable conditions for both skaters and spectators alike.
